photo diary: multnomah falls, oregon

Yesterday my friends and I drove to Multnomah Falls for a hike!  We saw seven waterfalls in total over about 5 miles in the rain.  It was a lovely time, and I am proud that I don't even feel sore (yet).  Hopefully there are more hiking daytrips to come.

handmade birthdays

One of my greatest joys in life is making handmade gifts.  Since I started knitting this summer, I took that as an opportunity to make Ted a Gryffindor blanket and Claire a Hufflepuff scarf.  Although they are far from perfect, I am really proud that I have overcome my fear of knitting.

When I finally got to go into the Button Emporium & Ribbonry a few weeks ago, I bought some snazzy ribbon and a giant button for Erin's birthday crafts!  I made a leaf headband (one for me as well) and an "award ribbon."  I am a sucker for pretty ribbon.

Well, that's all I can reveal for now.  ;)

eat here: mother's bistro & cafe in portland, or

Ted and I had the most lovely breakfast at Mother's this morning.  We had the Crunchy French Toast, Migas, and BOURBON PECAN PIE.  The look above is my "HOLY MOTHER OF HAGRID THIS PIE IS THE BEST I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY LIFE."  When I told this to the owner (in a less nerdy way of course) she was so happy she took a picture of me and Ted to post on their Facebook page.  The reason she came over to talk to us in the first place was because Ted wanted the recipe!  She was so sweet, and we will definitely be back to try lunch and dinner there!

one year

A year ago (October 8th), Ted and I went on our first date.  He showed me around downtown Portland (because he lived here a year before starting school), we ate Italian food, and we talked on a bench (our bench) in the street park.  I can't believe how much has happened since that day.  I mean, we're well into our second year of college now!  I am so thankful to have met Ted when I did, because he has made my college experience so full of happiness, love, and musicals.  I couldn't have asked for a better boyfriend and best friend.  He is the Marshall to my Lily, the pumpkin to my spice, and the Teddy to my bear.  Or something like that.

autumn banner & garland

I unfortunately haven't had much time for crafts as of late (sadface), but I have managed to make a quick banner and garland to add a little fall flair to the dorm room.  Don't worry, Fall break starts Wednesday (night, but STILL) and will give me many hours to bake (PUMPKIN EVERYTHING), craft (HALLOWEEN DECOR), and catch up on online TV (DOWNTON ABBEY).  I can't wait!
