Well, this looks overwhelmingly adorable. I expect no less from Belle & Sebastian.
Goofy, I know. BUT I MISS LONDON AND I PRETTY MUCH START JUMPING UP AND DOWN WHEN I SEE THIS TRAILER IN THEATERS BECAUSE LONDONNNNNNN. Also, Hugh Bonneville from Downton Abbey. Dreaming of Paddington Station already.
I read The Giver back in elementary school, and I'm excited to be reintroduced into its world through the movie. It's a shame it took so long for it to become a movie (it came out the year I was born--21 years ago), but I guess it's a dystopian wonderland in Hollywood right now, so the time was finally right.
Any other upcoming movies I should know about?

I nearly didn't make it up to our favorite spot in Sedona on Airport Road. It was ridiculously windy and I was wearing a skirt. Not only that, the full skirt has precarious snaps instead of a zipper because I made it years ago when I was afraid of messing up sewing in a zipper. Translation: this skirt was not made for climbing rocks, especially not in the wind. I stood halfway up the little lookout for about ten minutes until the wind calmed down enough for me to risk flashing the couple and family below us. Luckily I got up without too much difficulty, and Ted took some windswept photos of me. The weather felt incredible, especially after spending a few days in the Phoenix heat romping around Mesa, downtown Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Gilbert. We welcomed the change of scenery and weather, even if it wasn't that much cooler during the day.
This outfit screams Arizona to me for some reason. Maybe it's the combination of a little redneck with the cutoff vest, a little cowboy with the bandana-like floral skirt, and a little Native American with the silver accessories. Plus, my sandals matched the red rock. It's just a fun, very me look in the way that it's a a bit weird and themed. I just had to put this getup on to have a little photoshoot and Picazzo's dinner date with Ted, even if it meant flashing an innocent family for half a second.

Before we left lunch, Rylee met up with us and we all headed to some vintage shops that I've heard about but have never been to, like the adorably-stuffed Qcumberz. We spent a few hours browsing them, which was really lovely, and a good way to escape the heat. I found a few cute things that I had to leave behind, like the tea towel above with a donut sticking out of its mouth. There was one thing I simply could not leave behind at MacAlpine's (which by the way, is the cutest soda fountain/vintage shop ever). This magical purchase will surely turn up in a post later this year. Be excited. Although both Rylee and Erin walked away with some solid purchases, I think Ted's takes the cake, at least in my book: a Captain & Tennille album featuring the song "Muskrat Love" which is quite possibly the weirdest and greatest song ever to be recorded.

Naturally we were tired, sweaty, and ready for a cold drink, so we made the point to go to Lux after Rylee had to depart for work and we were ready for a break from shopping. It was busy, but we managed to find a seat on a picnic table studded with teal typewriters and settled in for more than an hour. We chatted, sipped our cold coffees, and I may have stared at a girl that looked like Jennifer Lawrence a little too much. (I swear, she looked JUST LIKE HER.) Regardless, it was good to finally get there after wanting to go for a couple of years! Afterwards we met up with Domenico at MacAlpine's and then had a impromptu photoshoot in a cute neighborhood.

big city girl
Waiting for the tube. Tube strike woes. Tight-turning double-deckers. The world is my oyster card. Feeling clammy in the packed Picadilly Line. Walking in the rain. Wind. Too much wind. Bumping into strangers. Saying "sorry!" to strangers. Eating out too much.
South Kensington. Home. Scoop. Red couch. Little Waitrose. School. Three days of classes. 3 hour classes. Spending too much. Shopping at TopShop. Wide-eyed at Harrods. Pure bliss at Liberty. Going to the theatre. The symphony. The opera.
I started writing this post months ago in London. Maybe I decided it sounded a bit too pretentious and stopped? Or perhaps I had somewhere to get to, as so-called "city girls" tend to do, leaving this in my drafts forgotten? Either way, my London life seems so far away right now. I miss it every single day, and I know little memories will make their way on this blog more than I would like to admit because I seriously have so many and don't want to forget even the most mundane (like the time I got overly excited about 3 chocolate bars for £1.20 at Tesco or the multiple after-theatre pub outings with Philip & co where I awkwardly sat and said nothing and maybe ordered my favorite cider, Magners). All of it was magical, even the boring parts. Expect more tidbits in the future.
future talk and folk music
It's one of those nights when even catching up on Mad Men seems daunting, much less preparing for the future.
It's one of those nights when no amount of googling will tell me how to achieve my obscure life goals.
It's one of those nights when moody folk music seems like the only anecdote to restless thoughts and a messy room (or should I say, messy thoughts and a restless room).
It's one of those nights when I feel like I must be taking things too seriously, or not seriously enough.
It's one of those nights when instead of getting answers, you get more questions, but maybe an episode of Gilmore Girls will make everything seem a bit more doable.
